Riesling La Vis 2024

The Riesling from the Trentino winery La Vis is the classic mountain wine, fragrant, fresh, and mineral, obtained from the pure vinification of one of the most important white grape varieties: Riesling. Originating from Central Europe, in the Moselle region, Riesling expresses some of the best whites in the world and has found a territory particularly suited to its pedoclimatic needs in the Val di Cembra. Thus, a young and immediate version of Riesling is born, a faithful expression of the Trentino territory.

The Riesling wine is produced by the historic winery La Vis, located a few kilometers north of Trento, at the entrance to the green Val di Cembra. It is a reality that manages about 800 hectares of vineyards belonging to as many members, owners of small plots, situated in a very interesting area characterized by the presence of calcareous-dolomitic or porphyritic soils. Thanks to a careful zoning process, the La Vis winery cultivates each grape variety in the most suitable place, considering altitude, soil composition, and microclimate, in order to obtain always the highest quality. Riesling is mainly cultivated in the lower Val di Cembra, at an altitude of about 500-600 meters, on terraces facing south, characterized by sandy soils resulting from the weathering of porphyry rocks with fluvio-glacial sediments. The strong temperature fluctuations allow for the harvesting of grapes with very intense aromas, yet always characterized by great freshness. At the end of the manual harvest, a soft pressing and fermentation of the must in temperature-controlled steel tanks follows. It then rests in cement on its own yeasts for 5/6 months before being bottled.

The white Riesling from La Vis is a wine of great drinkability, a faithful mirror of the wonderful terroir of the Val di Cembra, one of the most vocated areas in all of Trentino. In the glass, it presents a yellow-green color with brilliant golden reflections. The aromas open with notes of white flowers, citrus aromas, fruity sensations, and hints of flint. On the palate, it has an attack of great and vital expressive energy, with a fruitdelicate, a clear savory and mineral vein, that leads to a very fresh finish.
